Effecetive Letter

An effective demand letter must be clear, professional, and backed by facts and evidence. It sets a firm deadline and clearly states the consequences of non-compliance, demonstrating the sender's seriousness and laying the groundwork for a potential lawsuit. An attorney-drafted letter is often more effective, as it carries more legal weight.

Key factors for an effective demand letter

Tone and style

  • Professional and factual: Maintain a businesslike tone. Focus on the facts and avoid emotional language, personal attacks, and inflammatory statements. A demand letter is not the place to air grievances; its purpose is to show that your case is legally sound.

  • Clear and concise: The letter should be easy to read and understand. State your purpose upfront and get straight to the point. Short, clear letters are more likely to be read and taken seriously.

  • Empathetic to the reader: An effective letter frames the dispute in a way that shows the recipient that the issue is also their problem. It should also make it easy for them to justify a settlement to their own superiors.

Content and structure

  • Detailed facts: Provide a brief summary of the events, including all relevant details such as dates, locations, and previous attempts at communication. This clarifies the issue and creates a record of the dispute.

  • Specific demand: Clearly state what you want the other party to do. Whether it is paying a specific amount of money or fulfilling a contractual obligation, the demand should be unambiguous.

  • Supporting evidence: Include copies of all relevant documents, such as contracts, invoices, emails, and photographs. Providing concrete proof strengthens your claim and makes it more difficult for the recipient to ignore.

  • Clear deadline: Set a reasonable but firm date by which the recipient must respond or comply. This creates a sense of urgency and prevents the matter from being delayed indefinitely.

  • Stated consequences: Clearly explain the legal remedies you are prepared to pursue if the demands are not met. This could include filing a lawsuit in court, which is a powerful incentive for the other party to settle.

  • Legal basis: Explicitly reference any applicable laws, contractual provisions, or legal grounds for your claim. This adds credibility and signals that your position has been carefully considered.

    Delivery and logistics

  • Certified mail: Send the letter via certified mail with a return receipt requested. This provides you with legally verifiable proof that the letter was received, which can be crucial if the dispute proceeds to court.

  • Attorney-drafted: A demand letter drafted and sent by an experienced attorney holds more weight than one from an individual. It signals seriousness and readiness for litigation, which can prompt a faster response.

We boil all that complicated stuff down to you filling out a simple form.

1) Choose your letter type.

2) Fill in the form fields with accurate and truthful information

3) Hit the SUBMIT button

4)  Read and sign our release that states you fully understand that our only participation in your legal action is SENDING A LETTER. We are not your personal attorney.  We provide a unique SERVICE that typically costs citizens a ridiculous amount of money for an attorney to send a simple letter.

4) Make the online payment of $129

In the background, our legal team will craft your letter, and within 48 hours, your letter will be sent to your recipient via physical "Certified US Mail"

You will also be emailed a copy of the letter that was sent on your behalf.

When (of if) we receive a response, you will be emailed a copy of the responding letter, and your order will be closed.

Your order will remain open until we receive a response or for 90 days.  At that time, we will assume no response has been sent (or will be sent), and we will email you an evidentiary letter (PDF format)  indicating your certified letter was SENT and RECEIVED, yet there was NO response from your recipient.

You might use this documentation if you choose to further pursue legal action with your own personal attorney.

Once your order is formally closed, we have no further interaction in any legalities you choose to pursue.
